PuroSPIN™ Soil RNA Purification Kit #NK056-50, #NK056-200
The PuroSPIN™ Soil RNA Purification Kit is designed to purify total RNA from variety of microorganisms, fungi, bacteria, archaea, etc from soil samples. It greatly simplifies the purification process by incorporating a convenient and easy-to-use extraction technology based on nucleic acid binding to silica spin-columns which eliminates the use of toxic phenol-chloroform extraction or time consuming alcohol precipitation. The kit is suitable for different types of soil, such as: top-soil, bog, clay, forest, compost, etc.
Up to 500 mg of soil/sediment per sample can be proceeded in less then 1 hour. The yield of RNA purified with the PuroSPIN™ Soil RNA Purification Kit is typically ranges between 1 - 5 µg and vary between different soil types species with an A260/280 ratio of 1.9 - 2.1 and A260/230 ratio of ≥ 1.9 indicating a high quality of the product. Purified RNA can be used for a range of downstream applications such as reverse-transcription qPCR, Northern blotting, or microarray analysis.
Features:
- Easily purify RNA from soil samples using silica spin columns
- Simple extraction process with no need for phenol or chloroform
- Lysate filtration step to remove any precipitated RT-PCR inhibitors, genomic DNA, SDS-protein complexes, salts and other contaminants for higher yield and purity of RNA products
- Specialized and detailed protocols for different sample types
- High-quality extracted RNA can be used for a range of downstream applications such as genomic sequencing, RT-PCR, real-time qPCR, or Southern blotting
